Corpus Christi – Holiday only in Saarland, Rineland-Palatinate, Notrh rhine-Westphalia, Hesse, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. A celebration in the belief of Jesus Christ’s body and blood.

Monday, 15th August 2016
Assumption Day of Mary – Holiday Only in Saarland. A feast day celebrating God assumed Virgin Mary to heaven.

German Unity Day – National Holiday. A celebration to the union of German.

Monday, 31 October 2016
Reformation Day – Holiday only in Thuringia, Saxony-Anhalt, Saxony, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Bradenburg. A commemoration of reformation done by communities of Lutheran and Reformed church.

Tuesday, 1st November 2016
All Saints Day – Holiday only in Saarland, Rhineland-Palatinate, North Rhine-Westphalia, Bavaria and Baden-Württemberg. A day to honor the live of every saint known.

Wednesday, 16th November 2016
Day of Repentance and Prayer – Holiday only in Saxony. A day for people to focus on praying and reflecting themselves.

Sunday, 25th December 2016
Christmas Day – National Holiday. International celebration to the birth of Jesus Christ.

Monday, 26th December 2016
St. Stephen’s Day – National Holiday. A day after Christmas, also known as Boxing Day.

As additional information, except for German Unity Day, public holiday in Germany are determined by the Federal States and Holiday that fall on a weekend are not observed on a weekday.
